The Show

Radio “Naya Andaz” which means ‘New Style’ brings unique Pakistani/Indian pop culture with information and entertainment.  Today’s active adults have a busy life style.  With work, family and kids they look at Radio Naya Andaz as their radio program for entertainment, information, awesome music and total interaction with the community.

When you listen to the radio, you always wonder who these people are and how they started the radio. Well, here is something about me. I was born in Jeddah and lived in an industrial city Yanbu, Saudi Arabia then moved to Karachi, Pakistan and now  in Houston, Texa s. I completed my high school from Elsik High in Houston,  graduating from University of Houston main camp us with degrees in Management Information Systems and Finance (the typical  “Desi” degree. )I ended up in  radio business when I was in  high school and started working part-time for  Raftt Corporation who owned and operated 1560 KILE , and 1270 ( now known as  1090 KBRZ).  I was in introduced to radio, learned all the BTS (behind the scenes) technical   stuff and was later forced to be ONAIR  on the radio (I guess  it was fate, but  I always liked the production  stuff.) I have  broadcasting experience  since  1995- 96. I have been managed many radio programs  and now Radio Naya Andaz that I own and  produce under my company Nextep Media Marketing Inc.
I have always started from bottom, being “the phone guy” and slowly making things bigger and better.  Now most of my time is spent in the corporate world, radio show and then my beautiful family.  Outside of radio, I must say I squeeze a lot out of life, whether it’s going out watching movies, hanging out with friends, taking long drives or just simply chillaxing at the crib. (Invited to Shaadis, b-days, and several social and community events also take up the rest of the time.) I am always in learning mode and has a passion for Pakistani Pop/Rock music, love playing and promoting it. When you listen to our show next time, remember we say things from the heart without bringing any personal agendas ONAIR.  Everyone has some type of stress in their life and I want to make sure while listening to our show you are somewhat stress free, when you call you feel you are talking to a friend. Just sit back relax and enjoy the show.

Hey guys! I’m Zainab from Radio Naya Andaz. I’ve been interning here for the last two years and I LOVE IT! Probably because I’m a huge music fan and Radio Naya Andaz is the place to be for good music. I’m a student at the Honors College of The University of Houston. Right now, I’m a Biology major, but I’m debating on changing it. I plan on becoming an ER doctor when I “grow up.” Like I said I love music, so I think the whole radio thing lets me blow off steam from the stress of school. I have too many favorites to count, so I can’t really say I just like one person or band. I like all kinds of music, mostly alternative, so I like a lot of the non-mainstream type of stuff like Mauj, Aaroh and Mekaal Hasan Band. I love Rahat, Atif and Junoon (the typical stuff), too, so I keep it balanced. I guess that’s it for now! I hope you all enjoy our new website, and keep listening to Har Dil ki awaaz, jawan dilloun ki awaz, Radio Naya Andaz!

Hey I’m Fatima! I was born and raised in New York and moved to Houston about four years ago. I’m current studying Psychology with a minor in Business at the University of Texas at Dallas. My favorite bands are probably Staind (America), Strings (Pakistan), and I also love Ali Azmat and Junoon (Pakistan). Music is basically my religion so I love going to concerts hearing new bands with my close friends.
